We built Nuvana Business the other way around. Every branch, every till, is designed to keep working with no connection at all - because that is the actual operating condition of a Kenyan business, not the exception to plan around.
This is not a feature we bolted on. It is the first architectural decision we made, before almost anything else - because a POS that can't take a sale during a network outage is a liability with a nice interface.
